Two locals charged with three counts of break & enter and steal

Houses in Narraweena, who were recently hit by crime, can prevent break-and-enters by having an Alarm System InstalledTwo young local boys were arrested and charged by Northern Beaches Police, over a string of break-and-enter offences on Thursday afternoon.

Police were called after the youths were disturbed allegedly trying to break in to premises around 2pm on Warringah Road, Narraweena. The youths left the area but were allegedly detected attempting to steal electronic equipment and jewellery by breaking in to a house in Nimbey Avenue. They were chased by Police and caught in Alfred Street.

A North Manly 17-year-old was three counts of aggravated break, enter and steal, having goods in custody suspected of being stolen, being in possession of housebreaking implements and with being in breach of bail conditions for an unrelated offence. A Cromer youth, 15, was charged with three counts of break, enter and steal, having goods in custody suspected of being stolen, being in possession of housebreaking implements and with using offensive language in a public place. Both were refused bail to appear in a children’s court.

Anchor Security reminds home owners that having an Alarm System installed and monitored for activations is an effective method for deterring would-be thieves. During the Christmas, and especially after Christmas Day, are key times for ensuring your property is secure.
